Lars Lehne is joining us as an additional member of the Management Board as from April 1, 2016. He is moving from Google Germany, where he has been employed since mid-2009, most recently as Director of Media & Technology. On September 1, 2016, Lars Lehne will take over the role of CEO from Marco Seiler, founder and CEO of SYZYGY. Over the next few months, Lars Lehne and Marco Seiler will work closely together to ensure a smooth transition.
Lars Lehne is one of the most experienced digital managers in Germany. He was responsible for the agency business at Google Germany for more than six years, allowing him to gain deep insights into the sector. Before his time at Google, Lehne's roles included CEO of media agencies GroupM and Carat.
Marco Seiler, 48, established the Internet agency in 1995 in Bad Homburg. Over the past 21 years he has created an international digital network with offices in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, London, New York and Warsaw. In addition to the main brand, SYZYGY, the agency group includes media specialists Unique Digital, the creative hotshop Hi-ReS! and Polish design studio Ars Thanea. Seiler was named "Agency Person of the Year" by HORIZONT magazine in 2014 for his entrepreneurial achievements.
"I believe that SYZYGY has huge potential – it’s much more than just a conventional digital agency. The combination of outstanding digital expertise, an in-depth understanding of brands and a strongly entrepreneurial culture is precisely what appealed to me. I am looking forward to working closely with Marco over the next few months and helping to shape the future of the digital group," commented Lars Lehne, future CEO of SYZYGY.
"I've known Lars for years and hold him in high esteem. I'm delighted that he is joining SYZYGY. He not only has the professional skills but also outstanding human qualities as a manager, which are a perfect fit for the job and for SYZYGY. Together with the management team, Lars will write new chapters in the success story of the SYZYGY Group. 21 years at SYZYGY are a very special part of my professional career, a stage that is slowly coming to an end. I'm extremely grateful to the people who gave me their loyalty and trust during this period and I will always feel a close affinity with them," said Marco Seiler.
