Corporate News: SYZYGY acquires majority stake in performance marketing specialist Catbird Seat
The SYZYGY Group has acquired 51 per cent of the shares in Catbird Seat GmbH, a digital performance marketing provider based in Munich and Berlin. Catbird Seat specialises in delivering tailored solutions for analytics, SEO, SEA, RTA, content marketing and social media marketing, and was voted best SEO agency of 2016. The company was also recently named best performance marketing agency of the year at the 2017 Criteo Performance Marketing Awards. Dr Sepita Ansari, Matthias Weth, Frank Hohenleitner and Axel Landschoof remain shareholders and will continue to manage the business. Catbird Seat’s clients include AutoScout24, STIHL, Christ, Disney, Fressnapf, ADAC and L’Oréal.
Catbird Seat was founded in 2009 by Dr Sepita Ansari and Matthias Weth and now employs over 60 people. It is one of the fastest-growing performance marketing agencies in Germany. Dr Sepita Ansari has worked in online marketing for more than ten years and lectures at several universities. Co-founder Matthias Weth is a proven digital advertising specialist and a speaker at various companies, including Google. The acquisition of Catbird Seat allows the SYZYGY Group to strengthen its expertise in performance marketing, analytics and SEO as an essential part of the digital value chain. Together with the team at SYZYGY Hamburg (formerly uniquedigital), the SYZYGY Group is now one of Germany’s top three performance marketing agencies and has offices in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich.

The acquisition is subject to approval from the competition authorities.
